Harry Potter makes into every list of cozy and Christmas reads. I think everybody on the planet (including me) is quite the fan of either the books or the movies or both. So, when I found a Harry Potter themed Christmas book tag over at Penny @ Read Yourself Happy I just couldn’t resist.
It’s your first Christmas at Hogwarts. What’s one book you’ve asked for this year?
There are so many book popping into my head right now after reading this prompt. As much I love to haul new books. But, I think for this Christmas I would love a vintage clothbound edition of Jane Eyre, the first book that made me into a reader.

You spot Hagrid hauling the Christmas tree through the grounds. What is the longest (or heaviest!) book you own?
1Q84 by Haruki Murakami is over 1000 pages and I think it is one of the longest and heaviest book I own.

It’s time for the famous Great Hall feast. What’s one book you can’t read without snacks?
I don’t snack while reading at all. Once I spilled coffee on my book since then I am afraid to read in presence of some food or drinks.
Well done, you’ve brewed your first Polyjuice potion. What’s one book you’d change the cover of?
Honestly, I don’t like the movie tie-in on book covers. See this cover? I hate it. Hobbit is one of the books that holds a special place in my heart but the movie cover is terrible.

You receive a brand new Firebolt for Christmas. What’s one book you read super quickly?
Malice by Kiego Higashino is about 200 pages. It is a super fast read because it is unputdownable. The mystery is highly intriguing.

You join Harry for his first proper Christmas. What’s one book you’d love to receive this year?
Against the Loveless World by Susan Bulawama is very high on my tbr. I would love to receive this book. Have you heard of this one?

You get hit by one of Fred and George’s flying snowballs. What’s a book you wanted to throw across the room?
I don’t ever want to throw books on anything or anybody.
You’ve just visited Hogsmeade for the first time. What’s one popular book you haven’t read yet?
Any books by Elif Shafak. 10 Minutes 38 Seconds in This Strange World is a very popular book which is still pending for me.

Congratulations, you’ve been invited to the Yule Ball. What book about Christmas do you love?
A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens apart from the Harry Potter books is my absolute favorite for the holiday season.

You find Ron’s deluminator. What’s one book that’s helped you through some dark times?
Without any doubt, it would be the Lord of the Rings by J.R.R. Tolkien. It has helped me through thick and thin. I always revisit these books in despair.

That’s great. I have met people who do the same. I do eat candies alongside once in a while but nothing more than that. 😁

I really enjoyed reading your answers to this tag. I completely agree that it looks awful when the give a book a cover to tie in with the movie version. I much prefer them to look completely different.

Thank you very much for stopping by. Also, I prefer a generic theme not in sync with the movie for the book covers. But i know many people who like their tie-ins as their cover and I don’t just get it

I really should read more books over the Christmas and winter period, when its warm and cosy. I tend to read more during the summer. I could read my Harry Potter books actually, nice post.

I know. I think the characters of the book are overshadowed by the presence of the movie / tv tie-ins. Thanks for reading. I’m glad you liked my answers. ❤

I’ve never watched or read Harry Potter but I enjoyed reading your answers. Jane Eyre would be a book I’d take with me too.
