Goodreads Monday | 19-May-19

Today’s book is a Non-fiction.

Yes, you heard it right. I am going to be writing about a Non fiction today. If you have followed me all along, you’d know how little I am inclined towards non-fiction. While scrolling through my Goodreads, I found a memoir which is very popular on Bookstagram and recommended by many. So, here I am doing a Goodreads Monday on it. (Scroll down to know what Goodreads Monday is)

Featuring today is a very popular non fiction book which is much appreciated lately.

Becoming by Michelle Obama

becomingAn intimate, powerful, and inspiring memoir by the former First Lady of the United States.

In a life filled with meaning and accomplishment, Michelle Obama has emerged as one of the most iconic and compelling women of our era. As First Lady of the United States of America—the first African American to serve in that role—she helped create the most welcoming and inclusive White House in history, while also establishing herself as a powerful advocate for women and girls in the U.S. and around the world, dramatically changing the ways that families pursue healthier and more active lives, and standing with her husband as he led America through some of its most harrowing moments. Along the way, she showed us a few dance moves, crushed Carpool Karaoke, and raised two down-to-earth daughters under an unforgiving media glare.

Initial Thoughts

This has been on my TBR the day it was released in India. My sister got a copy for me but ended up reading first. She loved it and I trust her judgement with books at-least. So, yes I am very excited about reading this one.

Meme of the day

Goodreads Monday is a weekly meme created and hosted by Lauren@Lauren’s Page Turners. To participate, choose a random book from your TBR and show it off! Do check out her blog it is amazing.

  1. I really enjoyed Becoming, but have to admit I’m not political at all. I wonder if it reads differently for someone from the US or someone who is political?
