Greetings everyone. I hope the new month is treating you well. For me, March started off with a celebration. It was a long weekend as Holi was celebrated with pomp and show on 2nd March. I haven’t started my March reads yet so I thought it is wise if I do a February wrap up before starting my March books.
February in terms of books was uneventful. I was not able to read as much as I had planned. I had taken a break earlier and it took me a while to get into the mode of reading. Last month, I did not have a TBR to focus on instead I was trying to catch up on the pending books. So, here it goes.
Books I read:
- Unaccustomed Earth by Jhumpa Lahiri: ★★★☆☆
It is a collection of short stories about Indian Bengali immigrants struggling with diasporic effects. I enjoyed the stories but it became repetitive after a point of time. Read my review here.
- The Tenant of Wildfell Hall by Anne Brontë. ★★★☆☆
Not many know about Anne’s works, therefore, I was glad I read something by her. It is a romantic classic with an exceptional language and a strong-minded protagonist. However, the plotline didn’t appeal to me. Although, I felt there were multiple layers to the story which I would understand upon re-reading. Read my review here.
Books I am currently reading:
- The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald
- Shikandi and other stories they didn’t tell you by Devdutt Pattanaik
Book of the Month:
Out of the two book, I have read I would pick The Tenant of Wildfell Hall because of my inclination towards classics.
That’s all for February. I haven’t decided my March reads yet and will be continuing with my current books for now. Thank you for reading.
Happy March
Great wrap up!
